Brocklesby Country Fair

Date: Sunday 27, June 2010
Venue: Brocklesby Estate, near Humberside Airport
About:

Opening at 9a.m.... In 2010 the emphasis again will be on lots to ‘see’ and ‘do’ for the whole family. The specifically designed areas including the Children’s Area dedicated to fun; the Arts and Craft Marquee; The Shopping Emporium; a Country Living Area; a 4 x 4 Area; and a Countryside Area for everyone to ‘have a go’ at activities including archery, pistol shooting, clay shooting, paintballing, and muskets.

In 2009 one of our main attractions included nine times British aerobatic champion, Mark Jefferies, having recently appeared on Channel 5's 'Fifth Gear', he performed spectacular manoeuvres, tumbles and spins in his ''Extra 330SC'' aircraft. He was a huge hit with our crowds and hopefuly the Mark Jefferies Air Display will return to the Fair in the future!

Other Main Ring highlights in 2009 included: The Flyin' Ryan Motorcycle Stunt Show who performed spectacular motorcycle stunts; Richard Savory's light hearted sheepdog and duck display who raised serious smiles. There was also a display of Polo and Horse-drawn Carriage Driving to music for the first time last year. The Police Dogs provided two exciting and educational performances in the arena, along with Woodside Falconry who conducted Falconry displays and brought heir unique and ever popular Pig Racing back to Brocklesby. There was be a parade of the Brocklesby Hounds, Vintage Car and Tractor Displays and the ever popular annual ‘scrap’ which is the Terrier Racing.

In 2009, the Paul Wiseman Electrical Contractors Ltd. Countryside Area hosted the Richard Savory's Sheep Show, an entertaing and amusing demonstration of breeds of sheep and shearing skills. There were also demonstrations of Chain Saw Carving, Fly Tying, Falconry and Ferret Racing. The Lincolnshire Gun Dog Society held their annual competition where anyone 'with a dog that retrieves' could enter on the day. The Salmon and Trout Society ran Adult and Junior Fly Casting Accuracy Competitions. Hot Air Balloon tethered rides were also available, and a flight for the highest bidder in the Country Charity Auction lifted off from the Main Ring. With gun dog scurries, quad bikes, and much much more, there really is something for everyone! This year the Fair celebrates it's 25th aniversary and will again be supporting 'When You Wish Upon A Star'.
