About:

The Great Scottish Swim is a one mile open water swim suitable for all. Whether you have only ever taken a dip in your local pool or you are a keen club swimmer this is an event not to be missed.

The swim will take place on Saturday 29th August 2009 and is expected to attract thousands of swimmers to this new and exciting event. Make sure you don’t miss out by entering online today.

Situated in North Lanarkshire-the heart of Central Scotland, Strathclyde Country Park lies in 450ha of countryside in the picturesque valley of the River Clyde. Mature woodlands, rough wetlands, wildlife refuges and beautiful open parkland all surround Strathclyde Loch and provide a stunning backdrop to the numerous major sporting events which the park plays host to.

From 9am onwards groups of approximately 200 swimmers will enter the water, with a 30 minute interval between each group.

Taking part in the Great Scottish Swim is a great way to keep fit and raise money to grant the wishes of very poorly children throughout Scotland
