Four Men And A Marathon

We are delighted our friends at Kroll Advisory Limited are putting on their running shoes to participate in the prestigious London Marathon on Sunday 23^rd April. Team members Paul Smith, Paul Greenhalgh, Paul Reeves and Sushil Patel have all dived head first into the challenge despite the cold weather, training early mornings, evenings and over weekends.

Wish is a charity very close to the hearts of people at Kroll. When Paul G’s nephew was diagnosed with a life threatening illness, he dusted off a pair of trainers and got running again, to raise vital funds for Wish. 

Paul G explains: “The worst part about training is the early mornings and the cold; winter training runs are always the hardest part but absolutely nothing in comparison to what Lenny has to deal with during his treatment.” 

London 2023 will be Paul Reeves’s fourth marathon having ran New York once and Manchester twice. Paul R says: “Training is hard, particularly at my advanced years, and with the race being in April, training in winter with dark nights and slippy roads, is difficult.” 

Paul Smith only took up running 18 months ago! He completed the Manchester 2022 marathon and has now caught the marathon bug! Paul S says: “I simply love Wish and everything it does. It’s a charity I have supported and been involved for 30 years, having been there pretty much from the start…When the pain [in training] hits, you quickly think of Lennie and his family and all the other Wish kids and that gives you the focus to carry on.” 

Over the past decade Kroll have raised a staggering £150,000 for Wish. Kroll’s generosity does not stop with fundraising, staff from Kroll have volunteered numerous times at various Wish events.

Paul S says: “I am so happy and proud to have led the Kroll team in raising the funds we have thus far and will continue to do so!”
