Grantham Preparatory International School Ball Raises £18,608 for When You Wish Upon a Star
Grantham Preparatory International School hosted a spectacular charity ball on Saturday, 7th June at the stunning Kelham Hall, raising an incredible £18,608 for national children’s charity When You Wish Upon a Star. The funds raised will go directly towards granting magical wishes for children living with life-threatening or terminal illnesses.
The event was a celebration of community spirit and generosity, featuring a live auction with standout prizes including luxury holidays to Florida, Andy Okay fine art, and an exclusive overnight stay at Belvoir Castle, graciously donated by Her Grace the Duchess of Rutland who was in attendance, complete with butler service and dinner in the state room.
Guests danced the night away to live music from Newcastle based band Hip Hop Hooray, creating an unforgettable evening for a truly meaningful cause.
Martyn Wilkins, Headmaster of Grantham Preparatory International School, shared:
"We are immensely proud to support When You Wish Upon a Star through this incredible event. Our goal was to ensure that golden wishes can be granted to terminally ill children, and it was heartwarming to see the joy and generosity from everyone involved. We even auctioned off two reserved parking spaces at the school and pledged to wash the lucky winners’ cars which raised an additional £1,600! I’d like to thank everyone who helped make the night such a resounding success."
Emma-Kate Wyrley-Birch, Marketing Communications & PR Lead at When You Wish Upon a Star, added:
"We are so grateful for the continued support from Grantham Preparatory International School. Their commitment to instilling values of kindness and compassion in their pupils is truly inspiring. As a non-government funded charity, every penny raised helps us continue our mission of granting magical wishes for children facing unimaginable challenges."
The success of the evening marks another milestone in the school’s ongoing partnership with When You Wish Upon a Star, and highlights the power of community in making wishes come true.
