Mellors Group Hosts Special Charity Day for When You Wish Upon A Star at Nottingham Winter Wonderland
It was our pleasure to host ten families alongside Mellors Group at this year’s Nottingham Winter Wonderland!
The day out was an amazing gift from Mellors Group and their key event partners including Ice Tech, City Skyline, and Loaded, all of whom donated their time to help create an unforgettable day for the children and their families. Our friends at Hype also donated some lovely backpacks for the kids to take home.
Families enjoyed a full day of festive magic, including complimentary observation wheel tickets, ride tickets, ice skating, and a warm welcome inside Sur La Piste. Guests were treated to a range of delicious food from Loaded, alongside complimentary drinks and hot chocolate, ensuring a fantastic experience for all.

Amy Buxton, Head of Income Generation at When You Wish Upon A Star added:
“Mellors Group and their partners could not have done any more to ensure that each family that attended Winter Wonderland had the best time. Seeing the smiles on the children’s faces as they whizzed around the ice rink with the help of the staff, or waved to us from high up in the observation wheel, was priceless. Many families told us about how hard their year has been, with cancelled holidays and countless hospital visits, and what joy this day has brought them. All accessibility needs were thought of and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful in attending to each of the families. The children and their siblings had the best day, and we’re so grateful to the Mellors Group and their partners for making it so special for them.”
James Mellors, Director of Mellors Group, said:
“At Mellors Group, everything we do is rooted in creating moments that bring families together and memories that last a lifetime. It was a real privilege to welcome these children and their families to Nottingham Winter Wonderland and give them a day filled with joy, laughter, and festive magic. Seeing the smiles on their faces truly reinforces why experiences like this matter so much to us.”
