Lilyana’s Wish

We’re delighted to share some special moments from Lilyana’s magical wish.

Eight year old Lilyana, who lives with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, adrenal insufficiency, steroid-induced diabetes, and hyperinsulinism, has a deep love for animals, especially lions. Her incredible wish was granted with an unforgettable overnight stay at the London Zoo lodges, nestled within the Land of the Lions habitat. Her magical adventure also included a ride on the London Eye and tickets to see The Lion King on stage.

Lilyana’s mum, Kirn, shared:

“We are on our way back to Derby after the most fantastic time away! We felt like VIPs at the Cumberland Hotel thanks to all the little perks, like the backstage area with unlimited free drinks. Lilyana was in awe of everything we did. One of the highlights was definitely sleeping next to the lions and hearing them vocalising throughout the night—an experience we’ll treasure forever. Thank you so much to the When You Wish Upon A Star team, especially you. Lilyana’s had such a rough journey through her treatment, and this wish truly reminded her just how special she is!”
