Lucia's Wish
Lucia, aged 6, lives with Dravet Syndrome, a rare, genetic epileptic encephalopathy that gives rise to serious seizures that don't respond well to seizure medication.
If you asked anyone about Lucia, they would tell you that she loves Disney Princesses, especially Ariel, Anna and Elsa. Most of her free time is spent pretending to be them, last winter she even built her own Olaf!
When she isn't being a Disney Princess, Lucia can be found either swimming, building Lego, playing with her Barbies or copying the dances from The Descendants.
Last month we were delighted to grant Lucia's Wish to visit Disneyland Paris and spend some time with her idols - the Disney Princesses.
Lucia's parents say about the trip:
"This was a life changing holiday for us. For the first time since I can remember, Lucia and her sister were free to be children…to soak in the wonderment of Disney and enjoy meeting characters, go on rides and be free. Surrounded by magic and fairy dust, no epilepsy or medical memories in sight, we all smiled, laughed and created memories that will stay in our hearts and minds for a lifetime."
