Ruby's Wish
Princess Ruby was invited to dance in Clara’s magical dream at the Nutcracker Ballet.
Warmly welcomed to the 5 star Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh - The Caledonian, the family were guests of honour for the evening, Ruby even had her very own Nutcracker soldier guarding her room.
On the day of the ballet, Ruby’s Wish was to see a Prince… newly promoted and wonderful Principle dancer from the Scottish Ballet Andrew Peasgood who plays The Nutcracker Prince arrived to surprise Ruby and gift her Wish pack which included her Ballet tickets and lots of ballet treats and a magical message.
“The only way to travel to the Ballet is with the Prince himself! Mummy, Daddy & Ruby “shall go to the Ballet” in Ruby’s stunning Horse Drawn Carriage from McIndoe Horse Drawn Carriages for a memorable trip along the world famous Princes Street arriving at the Festival and King's Theatres, Edinburgh”
Welcoming them to the Nutcracker were the beautiful Snowflake dancers who along with the Prince led Ruby into the auditorium for a wonderful and very personal magical moment that captured the true essence of a child’s Wish to visit the Ballet, it was beautiful.
Lights down, soft ballet music notes playing, Ruby was led through the stalls then onto the stage.
Ruby, the Prince, a little bit of snow falling, magic and then the set opened where she was met by a number of the dancers in costume! Incredibly moving, Ruby was in her element! Chatting away she was lead up to the Christmas tree where the stunningly beautiful Principle Dancer the Sugar Plum Fairy herself Bethany Kingsley-Garner who came out to say hello and gifted Ruby a pair of signed pointe shoes, incredible!! Taking their seats in their Private dress circle box Ruby and her family enjoyed the Nutcracker.
